The Quran

The Quran. As a Westerner, the Quran, as for most Westerners, can be a topic of great confusion. Even for most members of the Islamic faith there is a disconnection between the actual interpretations of the text between different followers of Muhammed. We saw that with out Muslim speaker who told us how some Muslim interpret the Quran in different ways. Those people are the ones that really ruin the name of the Quran. They take it too far. From what my limited amount of education can tell, the Quran has so many interpretations and this is one reason for the conflict between some Islamic nations. So if there is more than one interpretation of this religious text of such difference that it can cause violent conflict, how can the rest of the world accept that Islamic law can be incorporated into national law? Will groups within the same borders be governed by laws that may or may not be associated with laws interpreted from one groups understanding of the Quran? This may be irrational for the West to accept and I don't think we will every accept it. Many believe we are a Christian nation and I don't think it is going to change just yet.
